Last year was marked not only by the onset of a pandemic but also by a very warm winter in the northern hemisphere. At the same time, the cries of the supporters of the fight against global warming also reached their unprecedented intensity. A simple schoolgirl from Sweden skipped school in protest against insufficient measures from her point of view to combat warming. She became very famous and received wide support in developed countries.
The countries themselves have unanimously presented new measures to combat global warming. And this year we have a gorgeous result in the northern hemisphere, record snowfalls, frost lockdowns. Many in the United States are sitting without electricity and even without water.
However, this is not the first time. Almost everyone forgot that in 2009 it was also a very cold winter, and the author felt it well for himself living in a house with stove heating and was also surprised by the strong and long frosts. But the summer that followed this incredibly cold winter turned out to be very hot for those places.
I can say that our planet is actually well balanced, and if once a decade surprised us with temperatures lower than usual, then extreme cold will be replaced by heat and vice versa. And then everything will stabilize and they will quickly forget about those cold winters or hot summers.
Another point is also interesting. In the previous decade, too, loudly shouted about global warming and just in the year of the greatest activity of the fighters against global warming, there was an extremely cold winter in the northern hemisphere.
If we consider the fluctuations in the weather on our planet, then they are simply ridiculous on a historical scale. Who knows, there was a big glacier on the territory of modern Europe just 12,000 years ago.
However, no one is afraid of a global cooling, although it is potentially much more destructive for our civilization.
And now in Texas, Americans are sitting without water or light, which does not happen in extreme heat. However, it is not the cold to blame here, but simply the elementary unreadyness of the inhabitants of Texas for it.
However, as soon as the weather stabilizes, we will again constantly hear voices about global warming. And if extreme fluctuations happen again, then the manufacturers CO2 will be again assigned to blame.
